I spent some time scrubbing the wallpaper glue residue off the walls in the dining room. This is in preparation for the drywall guy to do the new drywall ceiling. Apparently, not only can you not paint on wallpaper glue residue, you can't mud over it because the mud activates the glue and it shrinks and cracks. Same with the primers, paint, you get the idea. So, one has to clean it off, painstakingly. I spent a solid 5 hours scrubbing the top 6-8" of two of the dining room walls. Wow, that's a lot of typing without a picture. Sorry about that. Here you go:
I think the difference is evident. The paint guy recommended spraying and scraping with a scrapper. We'll probably try that. Hopefully, it will be faster.
I also spent some time, let's call it a break from the monotonous, tedious, scrubbing of the walls, to tighten up some of the hardware on the swing set. Some of it was a little loose, some of it was stripped out. Some of the wood pieces need replacing. No pics, sorry. It wasn't that interesting. Sorry if this paragraph was boring.
I also spent some time pulling out some more of the sub subfloor in the garage entry. This required removing some of the door frame that was in the way.
So, what do you do when you're doing a halfa$$ job installing door trim? Something like this:
And, what to do when you're tired of wrecking that? Well, wreck something else. It uses different muscles and is a change of pace. Then, you can also happen across a gem like this:
I happened to go downstairs for something and noticed one of the very few things I didn't think needed to be fixed...
...actually does, now, need fixing. Fantastic.
