Progress on the kitchen framing

Contractor completed a few things this week.

Wall for the kitchen.

Frame for the pantry.

Removed some joists from the laundry to increase the ceiling height.
Clearing more height here also allows for installation of the header for the pocket door to slide without the need for building a false wall. That saves us 4" of space in the laundry room on each side and let's us keep one of the light switchs where it is already. So, we get pocket doors and no need for false walls on either side of the laundry room, saving us a total of 8" in the width of the room. Bonus.

I took a bit of time to remove some more of the sub subfloor in the garage entryway. That was nailed much more than the other pieces were and was a tight area, causing me significant grief. It still isn't completely removed, although I have all the ugly tile removed and about half of the sub subfloor removed.

I also spent some time this week removing screws from the strapping in the ceiling in the addition and nails from the kitchen ceiling strapping. No pics of that because, let's face it, that's just not that sexy of a picture.
